RE: Summer Reading

I'd like to add Mary Ward Brown's collection of short stories, 
Tongues of Flame--I heard her read her newest story (A Meeting on the 
Road published in Three Penny Review) in March and was thoroughly 
impressed--she's in the line of Eudora Welty and Flannery O'Connor, 
sort of mid-way between them.  Currently in her eighties, she 
published Tongues of Flame when she was 76.  Nice, tight, southern 
fiction.  Enjoy.
