Distance Education Consultancy

Spring came to Iowa Wednesday;  I know because the grass turned green at
exactly 2:45 pm.  Greetings.

	On to business. . . 
	Since my college will be launching Distance Education courses in
nursing and later other subject areas next year, our Information
Technology Committee is advising the academic dean to establish a
full-time director to oversee the program.  At Clarke, Distance
Education will include courses and classes transmitted over the ICN (Iowa
Communications Network) which connects hundreds of sites throughout the
state for video and audio two-way link-ups, courses taught over the
Web/Internet, and any other kinds of distance education (i.e. where
learners and teachers are at sites remote from one another).
	But before we advise the Dean on the responsiblities of the new
director and on a future course, we'd like to engage the advice of a
consultant.  We are looking for someone experienced and knowledgeable in
administration, funding, teaching, scheduling, etc. such programs who
would come to Dubuque for 2 days for consultation to better educate us in
our baby stage.  If any of you are interested or know those who would
qualify, please let me know.
