Re: Problem Student?

	Kelly--

Do you have a designated person (faculty or administration) who
addresses the needs of international students with whom you might talk
about this student's behavior. We occasionally have had similar problems
with one or two international IMBA students here at Baldwin-Wallace and
the system that we worked out was to designate the director of the
resident American Language Academy as a person for us to contact. His job
is then to work with the student to help him/her understand the function
of the Lab and to find more appropriate sources of help for the student if
applicable. We didn't have much luck with the Dean's office either.

Clearly this student needs somebody besides the Writing Center
staff to explain to him that his behavior is inappropriate, and your
international studies person should be able to do that or to refer you to
the appropriate person.
