Re[2]: CCCC Sessions

Thanks to Katie Fischer! What a wonderful thing to read. I feel
honored by your reporting of the session I organized. Thanks!!

I also want to take this opportunity to say that my favorite session
was the "Drive by Sharing" put on by Lynn Nelson (I think that's
right) of ASU and a cohort of 6 undergraduate and graduate Native
American students. They write from the heart in the program there. (A
little of the sunrise and set, Katie.) It was fabulous material. As I
wiped the tears forming in my eyes, I worried that to be moved at such
a conference was anomolous (and it is mostly). But as I looked around
the room I noticed others with kleenex drawn. I heard sniffles around
me and saw faces burn trying to hold back emotional responses kept so
long in check. Obviously, I couldn't possibly do justice to the
beautiful texts we heard by way of synopsis, so I won't try. But more
of us need to follow this teaching example because in addition to
touching (as if more were needed), the pieces were incredibly well
     crafted.
