Re: e-mail tutoring
I'm going to echo Eric, though I'll not that our e-mail tutoring is almost
up to 1/3 of our f2f numbers--and this is with NO formal advertisement. We
were afraid to advertise for fear we wouldn't be able to handle the
onslaught; we've been growing steadily each year through word of mouth, and
we're just about peaked out at how much work we can do w/ our tutoring
budget.
Many of our papers come from outside, and we're piloting a program w/ a
Detroit HS, too. The outside papers not only have provided PR and Good
Will and research opportunities and extra practice, but they've brought to
the attention of those in power/with $$$ the possibility of offering an
Alumni OWL where alumni can subscribe and get feedback for a fee. This
hasn't happened yet, but they're talking about it, and I can see the
handwriting on the (virtual) wall....
