In the midst of constructing a new-fangled writing center here at Spalding
University (the old-fangled one didn't much resemble what we usually think
of as a Writing Center), I'm discovering the truth of Twila's statement.
With no money (yet) for any kind of budget, I asked for a couple of
volunteers from 
students in my creative writing class and graduates from last semester's
Professional Writing Class and got 12.  Their enthusiasm and energy,
creativity and foresight are staggering.  I thought I would be leading them
through the steps this semester; instead, I find myself holding on for dear
life as they gallop ahead of me.  Their enthusiasm is re-energizing me.

(And Twila, thanks for the materials.  They've been wonderful resources for
us to get ideas from.  Thanks for helping to show the way.)
