Neal, someone will undoubtedly correct me if I'm wrong, but my
understanding is that _secret_ records are not legal. If your
students can see their own records, you are ok. Here, we give
faculty an exact copy of what we give students, so there is no
secrecy. We don't have a "permission" box, for a lot of reasons, but
if students ask us not to send the copy to faculty, we don't send it.
The archives should contain a very useful discussion. The issue was
also discussed in WLN a couple of times, I think. And I believe
Glenda Conway gave a paper on this topic at the Southeast Writing
Center Association conference (am I right, Glenda?)
