Re: Tutoring Tips for hearing impaired students



Lisa -- your post is certainly provocative.  To some degree, all of 
us who teach composition courses face this same insidious pressure 
against the writing/language (or grammar or usage) balance -- and we 
in Writing Centers know all too well that our tutors are subjected to 
the same kind of pressure to "fix" the writing, often from the 
students themselves, if not from faculty.  I have no solutions, 
certainly, except that somehow we draw on our collective wisdom as we 
keep working on this issue.
