Letters of Reccomendation

Since it is spring, and the "hiring season" is fast approaching, I
wanted to ask what other WC directors/administrators were doing about
letters of reccomendation.

I just heard a report on NPR that the California supreme court made
letters a rec and even bigger timebomb than potentially before.

I have about 20 tutors, seven of whom are seniors, and all of whom
want letters.  Our "placement" office is now no longer handling
letters, so I have to write each one individually myself.

I was wondering what was going on at other schools?  Is this a
problem?  Is it being talked about?  Are there contingancy plans?
