Re: Need Feedback:NWCA

A few questions regarding the NCTE writing center:

1. Will those who staff the writing center be "tutors," "consultants," or
"coaches"?

2. When will training be offered? Who will teach the training course and
oversee the practicum?

3. Will the center be drop-in only, or may prospective clients make
appointments? If appointments are offered, will they be 30, 45, or 60 minute
sessions?

4. What will the physical layout of the center look like? Carrels? Open space?

5. Will this center, simply by virtue of its sponsorship, be granted NWCA
accreditation, or will an NWCA site visit be necessary?

6. Will staff members be generalists, or will they offer discipline-specific
consulting?

7. Will the center do proofreading?

8. What kind of records will the center keep? Who will have access to those
records?

9. Will this be exclusively a writing center, or will clients be able to get
help with other subjects?

10. Who will direct the center? What qualifications will this person have? Who
will s/he report to?

Let's not rush into this.
