The development and rapid growth of the Internet in recent years has
attracted the attention of many linguists and language practitioners, who are
interested in various language-related aspects of the Internet. The Conference
to be held at the University of Hartford will be organized around three broad
themes that capture much of this interest: language use on the Internet, the
pragmatics of the Internet, and the use of the Internet for the teaching and
learning of languages.
Individuals interested in presenting papers at the Conference should
