One more thought about the grammar "tricks" or "tips" -- Linda Hecker
at Landmark College and Karen Klein of Brandeis do whole body
punctuation -- choreographing the writing. This is aimed at
kinesthetic learners, particularly those students who may have a
disability in processing language visually or aurally -- walking the
sentences, stopping at the "periods", slowing down at commas, turning
slightly with a conjunction, etc. It's wonderful stuff -- they have
an article called "The Write Moves" in Presence of Mind, ed. by Alice
Brand and Dick Graves, published by Boynton/Cook.
