James,
        I don't have any informtion to give you, but am hoping you will let
me know what you find.  I know there are all sorts of legalities that would
help Tom Burkdall and I at Occidental (we are known as the writing people).
So many are so dim about what writing is all about--they expect our students
to come here with Phd intellects and the wherewithall (they'd say skills) to
write anything. They either whine about the reality, or try to pretend we
live the ideal. I'd love to know "legalities" to use to support the programs
we have but MUST change.  I have been looking for some time for web info on
WASC, to find what they say about writing. I find lots of sites about
individual colleges getting WASCED (so to speak) but not the information I
need.
