Call for Participation/Contribution: CoverWeb Coordinators Sought

_Kairos_, a journal for teachers of writing in webbed environments, is
seeking CoverWeb Coordinators (see below for description) for the
following topics:

   For issue 2:1
   Tenure, Promotion, and Technology

   For future issues
   Netizenship
   CMC and Intellectual Property Issues
The Interaction of Technology and the 'Other'

The proposal of additional topics or themes for future coverwebs is also
welcome.

Prospective Coordinators should submit a proposal which includes, but is
not limited to,

--the prospective coordinator's definition of the given topic
--the prospecitve coordinator's vision of a hypertext CoverWeb about
    the given topic
--the names of individuals who might be asked to submit individual
hypertexts for the CoverWeb
--a brief bio of the prospective coordinator's background in the
field, with the particular topic, and experience with hypertext.

Individual submissions need not necessarily be made by individuals who
have written in hypertext format; however, the CoverWeb coordinator
should have some familiarity with writing hypertext documents.

Coordinator proposals for the topic of "Tenure, Promotion, and
Technology" (whose title is subject to change) are due by October 10.

Coordinator proposals for the remaining topics are due by Oct. 30.

The CoverWeb project is a multi-vocal, multi-linear hypertext
collaboratively written and reviewed for each issue of the
journal--please see the CoverWebs from issues 1:1 to 1:3 to see
examples:
"Online Writing Labs"
http://english.ttu.edu/kairos/1.1/owls/owlfront.html

"Teaching in MUDs and MOOs"
http://english.ttu.edu/kairos/1.2/coverweb/bridge.html

"ElectroPedagogies: Pedagogical Uses of Hypertext"
http://english.ttu.edu/kairos/1.3/coverweb/bridge.html

The CoverWeb Coordinator works with the CoverWeb Liaison to recruit
submissions, coordinate the production of the CoverWeb 'nodes' (the
individual hypertexts which will ultimately be synthesized into the
gestalt CoverWeb), and make connections between the individual
hypertexts, providing "bridges" and metacommentary/critique.

Each contribution will be subject to peer review by the _Kairos_
editorial board, the CoverWeb Coordinator, and CoverWeb Liason and
coordinated into the CoverWeb for issue 2:1. For further information,
please contact _Kairos_ CoverWeb Liason Douglas Eyman at the electronic
mail address below.
