Hey, Barbara Bell!

One thing y'all might consider including is a *brief* explanation fo why you're
collecting these papers.  I have a couple of sentence about this on the
permission form that I give to my classes, and the students seem to appreciate
it.  It also usually sparks an interesting discussion about the nature of
research in composition and what exactly it is that I do besides "teach."  I
get the impression that students like having a sense of that.

I hope all is well down there.  I picked up the new Patti Rothberg CD and am
learning tunes on it in preparation for the 1997 CCCC songfest.  Are you
ready?!
