What Steve Sherwood Can Do for Us
Hi, Steve,
Congratulations and good luck. I know your new position will be one more
star in your crown, and I have no fear for the future of the William L. Adams
Writing Center at Texas Christian University under your guidance.
I'd really like to hear, publicly if possible, how it goes. I think we'd
all like to know how you and Christina prepared for the tranisition: What
she thought you needed to know that you were not previously aware of and what
has surprised you. I'd like to hear you and Christina back and forth in
Baton Rouge or in Salt Lake City, but if that's not possible, it seems to
me that we need to have some discussion of how WCs weather these kinds of
changes, how new WC directors taking over from *famous* directors cope, and
what directors leaving for whatever reason can do to ease their successors'
way.
WHen I leave, I hope that some of my ideas linger, but I recognize that I
may need to leave to allow for different perspectives. How would a new
WC director cope with my lingering concern? What could I do, other than
keeping my mouth shut, supposing I was still around, to help?
Does anyone else have questions like this?
