Changes at TCU writing center

Group,

Many of you were away this summer when I posted a message about the
changes in the William L. Adams Writing Center here at Texas
Christian University. Steve Sherwood has been named interim director
and two new people have been hired full time and one part time in the wake
of the resignation of Christina Murphy and Joe Law. Christina has
gone to the University of Memphis as tenured Professor and Chair of the
English Department; Joe has gone to Wright State University in Dayton,
Ohio, as Associate Professor of English and Coordinator of the WAC
Program.

We miss them both, but understand they are happy with their
new positions. We are pleased with our new colleagues, Dave Kuhne
amd Wade Wilson (full-time positions) and Camille Langston (part-time
position). Some of you may be acquainted with Camille through
WCenter. Dave and Wade are subscribing to WCenter, though both may
lurk for a while. I know you'll welcome them when they decide to
"speak out"!

This fall is one of new beginnings, in a way. Although Steve,
Margaret-Rose, Marie Laine, Mary Laine, and I, as well as two peer
tutors, are old hands around here, we've played musical offices
within our space this summer. Only Mary Lane, the executive assistant,
and I stayed put. After nearly eight years in one spot, the new
arangement seems strange. Then, in addition to the new folks I mentioned
above, we have a host of brand new peer tutors coming aboard this week,
since the majority of our former peer tutors graduated in May. I may not
remember who's located where yet, or the names of all the new young
people, but the changes are invigorating!

All you directors out there--Please give your support to Steve, a
_new_ director in your midst.
