Re: An idea for NWCA

The idea of the electronic "store-house" has a lot of potential. I
have been trying to get the faculty at my institution to participate in for a couple
of years in a store-house of class syllabi and materials. Some have taken advantage
of the opportunity to share their work, and have achieved great popularity with other
instructors. Their syllabi and course materials become the starting point for many new
instructors. This has become a good way of spreading our Writing
Program's ideas across the curriculum too.

The archieve for writing center materials that we have been discussing would be an excellent use of
an FTP server. In that way not every document would need to be in
HTML....they could be converted to ASCII format...this might also solve some of the problems with the
graphically/technologically challenged.
