Tutoring with Computers

I want to compile a list of tutoring strategies that use computers in
some interesting way. I'm not refering here to on-line
tutorials--that's another category. Of course, the tutor can also
simply be there with advice or feedback there while the student
is word processing her paper. But is anyone using the computer to
help the student generate ideas? try alternate version of a thesis?
etc.? Who has some thoughts on this subject?
