Those 50 things to do in class

You know, Katie, that's the second time I received that list today. 
It was just as funny the second time. But as I was reading it I 
realized that I've done some of those things. 

One thing I've done on the first day of class that wasn't on the 
list was walk in and start speaking French to a class. I was 
teaching a FYC class in a room on the Foreign Languages floor, so 
I took advantage of the situation. I said, "Bon jour, class. Comme 
ca va?" Students frowned and started to leave in droves. I started 
laughing and gasped at them to return to their seats, this is 
E101, and I was just having a little fun. They were not amused.
