Re: tutoring LD students
Wendy actually poses two issues, it seems to me:
1. Strategies to use with LD writers.
2. Dealing with the "she'll-never-make-it-so-why-bother" attitude.
Much has been written about the first of these, very little about the second.
Furthermore, it seems clear that the second issue goes beyond learning
disabilities.
In a world of potentially unlimited demand and limited resources, is it ever
right to make judgments about a writing center client's likelihood of success
and to expend more time and effort on those whose prospects seem greater?
