Re: tutoring LD students

Does your campus have an LD testing center? Like in the Psych 
Dept? Ours does and will test students for a nominal fee to give 
Psych Masters students something to do. 8-)

we also have a dyslexia center. They work well with LD students 
too, if the LD student is also dyslexic (which sometimes 
happens). Dyslexia test is more expensive though. 

If the student is extremely LD, though, she may have to just find 
some way to scrape up the funds for testing. I know most 
campuses won't give special considerations without creditials 
proving LD.  Maybe with a combination of special considerations 
(extra test time, etc) and your tutoring, she may get through.

Also, try ESL techniques. That sometimes works.
