At LSU WC we do not have such a rigid form of tutor hierarchy. We do, 
however, have a loose system of understanding about which tutors have 
specific concentrated interests, like ESL.

I think that a hierarchical system like yours might not just undermine 
the stature of the "professional assistants" on campus, but also tutor 
morale on all levels. All of us here seem to keep a mutual respect that 
serves us well due to shared ideas and constructive criticism.
