Relatively sluggish traffic? Wow, the speculation could be endless. At 
our fledgling university, I speculate that the second semester is a bit 
slower than the first semester because (1) a lot of students have a false 
sense of security, having survived the first semester, and (2) a lot of 
students have other, informal support systems which are more convenient 
and comfortable (although probably not more effective) than the Center. 
Also, (3) some students have learned enough in the first semester to be 
more independent writers, but have not yet learned enough to eradicate 
the illusion of independence.
