It might be fair to say my character was *influenced* by pulling 
crabgrass by hand. Whether it was improved, I'm not sure I could make 
that claim  ;)

I can tell you one thing: I have a profound impatience with busywork. I 
don't think that was the quality dad was trying to impart, but you know 
how that goes. Raising kids is such an inexact science.
