Thanks Jo.  You've given me some excellent advice.  This is actually 
their second attempt in the last year and half to combine services; the 
first was a month after I walked on campus--talk about low blows, huh? I 
already have unbending department and CAS dean support, which is a big 
help. I really like your "low blow" suggestion by the way. How brilliant.

I agree, after giving the whole issue more thought, that we should all 
consider some sort of mission statement for our centers. For my 
situation, a mission statement will, among other things, no doubt reinforce 
the different directions in which our two facilities (student services/WC)
are headed.

Thanks also for sending me a copy of your mission statement.  I'll surely 
be in touch with you.
