RE: That mysterious MBTI

Centaurs--

When Mickey asks to be bailed out, who can resist?

Actually, Mickey did a fine job of explaining the MBTI. It is one of the
most commonly used personality indicators. Over the past fifteen years or so,
some of us have looked into the relationship of personality type as determined
by MBTI and how we work as and with writers. Undoubtedly the best study is
George Jensen and John DiTiberio's, _Personality and the Teaching of
Composition_ (Ablex, 1989). As Mickey mentioned, Tom Thompson (who may be
lurking on this list), as a new collection of essays which should be appearing
very shortly. (Whoops...bad editor here...
Tom HAS a new collection...who knows what he's posing as?)

For a very brief introduction, you might want to check the short piece I
co-authored which appeared in _WLN_ way back in June 89. (Hey, if Mickey
called me a guru, you know I'd have to plug _WLN_.)

How's that for a start? If anyone else wants more information, please
feel free to ask. This is one of those topics I can go on about forever, and
I don't need to bore the rest of you.
