To tell you the truth, that's the system that was in use when I got to 
Nicholls in the Fall. I've been told by the Coordinator that she uses the 
terms for a more professional atmosphere. _I_ think it's because the WC is 
in competition with the long established Tutoring Services Center located 
elsewhere on campus. The WC is more of a "drop-in when you're having writing 
problems place" whereas the TSC is on a weekly-appointment-for-the-entire- 
semester system. I worked for the TSC as an undergraduate here, and I much 
prefer working in the WC as a volunteer faculty member now.
