You might be interested in knowing something about our summer workshop for
faculty who staff our community college's writing lab.  Faculty representing
9 departments meet for three weeks, four days  a week, from 8:30 to 12:30 to
discuss, read and write about the following questions:  What does it mean to
think and write in particular disciplines? What makes for effective responses
to student writing, both for teachers and tutors?  What is the nature of (and
students' perception of) revision?  What kind of protocol can best produce
successful tutoring sessions?
