People like Jennifer and Eric can help you a whole lot with the
statistical approaches.  I would like gently to suggest that the merits of
the Internet as a teaching vehicle out there with industry may not be the
issue at all, but rather a smoke screen.

You initiated contact with the outside world on your own, and,
unfortunately, that can make some administrators very nervous. Did you
observe the usual pattern of salutes?  I do not for a moment suggest that
such an institutional culture is the best way to go, but it is useful to
be cognizant of it where it does exist. In addition to gathering the stats
requested, I suggest a little thoughtful politicking.  You  know how it is
when somebody tries to break into the good ol' boy network. Gotta be a
little careful.
