I think Karen Gosselink is right: Most employers don't care what someone majored in. A B.A. has become what a high school diploma once was: an indicator of a certain amount of persistence and intellectual aptitude. But employers do care about various kinds of experience, which should be good news for those of us who employ students in our writing centers.
