    Giving advice in medicine or education may be hazardous, since
many factors affect what ultimately happens.  This is a reflection of
the uncertainty that exists in life.

    "Individual differences" always seemed to be an important
concept.  This concept alone suggests that "opportunities" can be
pointed out, but who really knows which individuals will prosper in
them?

    Occasionally I meet someone who did make a decided career change,
for one reason or another.  This did not necessarily mean that "part
one" had been a failure.

    We indeed dance to different drummers.
