   As Jeanne suggests, life is a mixed bag.  Conflicts are normal.
In our culture there is no shortage in oral tributes to teaching, but
this profession or pursuit is valued differently in more
materialistic ways.

   Facility in language can be useful in many areas.  Certainly
related opportunities are worth exploring in advising students.
