A Support Staff person can do just as good a job of running a Center as a 
faculty member can, as long as we take a minimal definition of Writing 
Center responsibilities. But as soon as the Director must liaise with 
faculty for major projects such as WAC, the Director should be faculty. 
In other words, the answer to the question depends on the mandate of the 
Centre to a large degree.
