Re: Help on database
Michael, We use Filmaker Pro & I've come to like it. I've made a
registration database much like the one you want & it's pretty easy once
you get the hang of it. It did take me a really brutal month & a half to
get the hang of it, but that was because I was desiging the database
during the first semester we were open & I'd never used a database before.
One advantage to Filmaker is
that you can design a fairly user-fiendly system using buttons as long as
you write clear documentation. Steer clear of the manual that comes with
Flemaker, however. It's confusing. A book I've found helpful; is the
Filmaker Pro Bible (I think that's the title; I can get more accurate
bibliographic information). If you want, I'll send you a copy of our
staff handbook, which has has a fairly through description of our system
& how it works from the users point of view.
