As a new WCenter conversationalist, I would like to register my vote as 
*NO*.  For reasons, please see Jeanne Simpson's post "additional 
comments."  When I first joined this group, I thought everyone on the 
list knew each other.  There were references to conferences and ideas 
and discussions that clearly marked close relationships--like when you 
walk into a group from the same school or the same department--they know 
each other.  As I listened, though, and heard others ask for materials or 
information or clarification, I realized that I could jump in here too.  
But I had to see others jumping in in numbers.

Another thing.  This is like watching a survey unroll.  When someone 
asked about tutor training classes, for example, and answer upon answer 
came in, I could see that, unlike what I thought, many WCs were just 
embarking upon for-credit classes.  I had thought we were last.  So I 
felt OK about mentioning my position--plus it was obvious from the 
responses that much of the information was very current.

I enjoy everything I read here.
