Here at the CCNY Writing Center, I'm the assistant director and I
currently report to the Acting Dean of General Education.  I have a
professional non-faculty position although the English Dept. allows me
to teach the tutor course and gives the students credit.  The budget
for the WC is also provided thru the Dean I report to, although that
money is getting scarcer for various reasons.  The Director is currently
a tenured full prof in the English Dept. who gets a course release each
semester, so indirectly, I do have some reporting to the English Dept.
Chair and the Dean of Humanities.
