Theresa,

The Writing Center here at Western isn't really located within the 
university hierarchy. We are located within the English dept. and appear 
as an asterisk on someone's budget report for the semester. (Yes, we 
don't even have anything resembling a budget of our own. Anything we ask 
for has to come from the dept.)

As far as personnel, the Writing Center Director is a faculty member in 
Comp/Rhet but not on the tenure track. The tutors are all English grad. 
assistants, numbering between 7-9 during an average semester. Tutors work 
15 hours per week if they are full time and 7.5 hours if they are half 
time.
