I do not haave faculty status.  I am a full time director of the lab
classed as administrative staff.

i report to the director of academic enhancement, an umbrella organization
of academic support programs.  she reports to the associate vice president
for academic affairs.  

>        What do you think of your arrangement?
i am evaluated as an administrator and not as faculty so i do not have to
publish, etc.  and i have great job security.  i have felt from very early
in my 2+ years in this position that i would have molest a student or never
come to work to be asked to leave the position.  but, on the negative side,
the lack of faculty status to some is seen as a weakness.  i have been told
that faculty would not take me seriously because i do not have faculty
status.  

we're not funded as well as i'd like but probably better than we would have
been if we were based in the English dept.
