Identity crisis

We are in the midst of *hoping* to reclassify our positions.  Currently our 
permanent staff consists of three people, none of whom are considered 
faculty.  Although we used to be part of the English Department, three years 
ago we became a separate unit that is located in the campus library.  It has 
come to our attention recently that while librarians here are tenured faculty,
our Writing Center personnel are not.  So we are exploring our possibilities.

Here's what we're wondering:
	
	How many of you out there have faculty status?  
	How did you get it?
	Whom do you report to?
	What do you think of your arrangement?


We are such good people (really!), so please help us.
