The Institute of Environmental and Human Health and the Department of Environmental Toxicology stimulate and develop environmental and health sciences research and education at Texas Tech University/Texas Tech Health Sciences Center within an atmosphere of superior scholarship and collegiality so as to position Texas Tech to be premier in the state, nation and the world in the integration of environmental impact assessment of toxic chemicals with human health consequences, framed in the context of science-based risk assessment to support sound environmental policy and law.
