A main highlight for Camp L.E.A.D. and its participants is the program's special guest speaker. Camp L.E.A.D. features a recognizable leader who serves as the keynote of the program. This distinguished individual, along with additional camp personnel and university faculty, help provide engaging leadership curriculum and experiences for participating students and selected high school guidance counselors. Participants also get to hear about the speaker's journey to success and interact with the notable individual on a personal level.
Camp L.E.A.D. 2013 Keynote Speaker: David H. Arrington
David H. Arrington is a native Texan. He was born and raised in the South Dallas community of Oak Cliff. David attended Texas Tech University and earned a finance degree in 1983. Shortly after graduating from Tech, David's passion for the oil and gas industry led him to the Permian Basin. He moved to Midland in 1984, and started David H. Arrington Oil & Gas, Inc. David continues to maintain drilling activity in several states and oil and gas basins.
For the 2012 camp, Ken Wallace, Galena Park ISD Assistant Superintendent for Educational Support and School Administrator, served as the featured speaker.
