Lou Ortiz serves as Special Assistant to the President. In this capacity, he develops and maintains education relationships with the Department of Defense, and other federal agencies and independent organizations. He conducts outreach to build and maintain relationships with non-profits, industry, and federal executive and legislative branch offices.
Before joining Texas Tech, Lou enjoyed a career as an Air Force officer. His most recent assignment was at the Pentagon.
Lou earned a B.S from Black Hills State University, M.P.A from Troy State University, and a J.D. from the Texas Tech School of Law and completed a National Security Fellowship at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
