Budget Advisory Council
Charge:
The Budget Advisory Council is established to advise the President of Texas Tech University on matters related to the university's fiscal affairs as directed by the President. The Budget Advisory Council shall be advisory and shall not have final authority to direct, control or supervise any activities related to the fiscal operations of the institution.
Membership:
The Budget Advisory Council shall consist of eleven (11) members as follows:
- Two members shall be appointed from the deans.
- Two members shall be appointed from the faculty.
- The President of the Faculty Senate.
- Two members shall be appointed from the staff.
- The President of the Staff Senate.
- One member shall be appointed by the Texas Tech Student Government Association.
- One member shall be appointed by the Texas Tech Graduate and Professional Student Association.
- The Provost & Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Council membership will include three ex-officio members as follows:
- The Senior Vice President for Administration & Finance
- The President's Chief of Staff
- The Director of Strategic Planning
Appointment:
All appointments are made by the President. Terms for all appointments are two years except for those whose membership on the Council is through an elected position.
Operating Procedures
The Council shall adopt rules regarding its internal functioning and will provide for regularly scheduled meetings. The chairperson will offer to address the Faculty, Staff and Student Senates once a year to inform these groups of the activities of the Council during the year.
Chairperson:
The Chairperson will be appointed by the President and will serve an indefinite term at the pleasure of the President.
