The Office of the President is looking for the next design of the official Texas Tech University Holiday Card and Holiday Open House invite. Artwork may not make reference to specific religious holidays and should not contain images related to specific holidays. Past cards have depicted winter scenes, general illustrations and campus photography. The contest is to determine artwork only; words or copy are not to be included in final submissions.
Any Texas Tech student in good academic and judicial standing may submit artwork (limited to one entry per person).
Entries will be accepted until September 14, 2014.
Artwork must be submitted electronically and include an entry form.
Submissions may be sent to: email@example.com
Finished card size is to be 7" wide x 5" tall, landscape orientation or 5" wide x 7" tall, portrait orientation.
Submitted artwork must be created within these dimensions: 7.25" x 5.25" @ 300ppi (final trim size 7" x 5") or 5.25" x 7.25" @ 300ppi (final trim size 5" x 7"). Keep critical art elements a minimum of .25" from trim line.
All artwork must be created in CMYK.
Accepted formats: PDF, EPS, AI, TIF, JPEG (full quality, un-compressed only). If sending AI or EPS files, please convert all text to outlines.
Please submit artwork on CD or via download link. Email attachments are subject to file size limitations – instead we recommend using Dropbox.com or a large file delivery service such as YouSendIt.com to send a link to your file. Both are free.
Digital artwork that does not meet the resolution and quality requirements will not be considered.
Texas Tech University will retain all reproduction rights to submitted artwork with credit given to the artist. TTU agrees not to sell any of the artwork or any reproduction.
Artists warrant that they are the sole proprietor of the artwork and agree to assign all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the artwork to TTU. Entries must be original concept and constitute an original work and must not infringe on the protected rights of other artists or violate any applicable copyright laws.
All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by the Office of the President. Art will be judged on the artwork’s creativity and artistic merit. The winner will be notified by e-mail or phone.
The deadline for the 2014 contest is September 14, 2014.
