R. E. "Corky" Dragoo, Jr.
Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance
R.E. “Corky” Dragoo, Jr. was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance at Texas Tech University in March, 2009. He is responsible for the oversight of the University’s fiscal operations including budgeting, student business services, procurement services, financial accounting and reporting, operations, quality services, and information systems management.
Mr. Dragoo received his Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech in Mechanical Engineering, and completed an executive MBA program from Harvard University. Mr. Dragoo started his early career with Boeing in the space program. He was President of Setpoint Canada, a control systems and IT firm in Toronto. He was named National Director of Consulting for the energy clients of Ernst & Young before retiring in 1999. After retiring for Ernst & Young, he became the Executive Vice President of Temple Inland Corporation before retiring again in 2006. He joined Texas Tech as Executive Assistant to the Chancellor in 2007 before being named Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance in March of 2009.
