Biography
Thomas Anderes is the Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance at Texas Tech University. His responsibilities include oversight of the university's fiscal operations including the budget office, student business services, human resources, procurement services and financial accounting services. In addition, he oversees the university's administration and finance information systems management, the police department, quality service and professional development, operations, and the non-faculty ombudsman.
He came to Texas Tech in August, 2004, from the Oregon University System where he served as senior vice chancellor for finance and administration. He has also served as interim chancellor and vice chancellor for finance and administration at the University and Community College System of Nevada; deputy commissioner for finance and facilities and assistant commissioner for finance and administration for the Connecticut Department of Education; deputy vice president for finance at the University of Wyoming; director of program coordination and planning for the University of Connecticut; and assistant director of university budgeting for Arizona State University.
Anderes earned his bachelor's degree in political science and masters in public administration from the University of Arizona. He completed his doctoral degree in higher education administration from the University of Connecticut.
