Online Accessibility Lab

Texas Tech University Worldwide eLearning supports an Online Accessibility Lab (OAL) for assistance to instructors to provide accessible instructional materials.

Captioning Assistance

Texas Tech's Online Accessibility Lab is available to assist with captioning questions and needs for all our instructors. Federal law requires that all video content at Texas Tech is captioned and our office is here to support compliance with that requirement.

To begin the captioning process, please complete the Video Captioning Request Form. Once we receive your request, we will contact you within one business day. If you have general questions concerning captioning, we can be reached at elearning.oa@ttu.edu.

Accessibility Evaluation

Is the online material you are using accessible? The OAL can conduct an evaluation for you to determine the accessibility of the following:

  • Your online course in Blackboard
  • Instructional online content in another website
  • A website that you would like to use in your course
  • Content from a publisher

If you are interested in an evaluation, please submit the Accessibility Evaluation Request Form.

Provide Accessible Content

All content in your course must be accessible. This includes Powerpoint presentations, PDFs, documents, etc. If you need help with making these documents accessible, the OAL can help you with this process. Please email the Online Accessibility Lab for assistance.
